What HR cares about is whether the note comes from a real licensed provider with a verifiable license number — not whether you sat in a waiting room. Every note we issue includes the physician's name, California license number, and NPI, all of which can be independently verified by your employer.

Yes. Every note is reviewed and signed by a board-certified physician licensed in your state — not an algorithm, not a nurse, and not an automated system. You complete a short 5-minute intake form on your phone or computer describing your symptoms. A board-certified physician reviews your responses and makes an independent clinical determination. If approved, your signed note is delivered to your email as a PDF within 60 minutes. No video call, no phone call, no waiting room. What if I need the note right now — at 2am or on a Sunday? +

What if my request is declined? +
If the reviewing physician determines that your symptoms require in-person evaluation or don't meet the criteria for a work excuse note, your request will be declined and you will not be charged. This happens when symptoms are serious, worsening, or have lasted more than 7 days — in those cases you need in-person care, not a documentation service.
What does the 60-minute guarantee mean exactly? +
Once a physician approves your note, it is delivered to your email within 60 minutes — guaranteed. If we miss that window for reasons within our control, your note is free. The 60-minute clock starts at physician approval, not at the time you submit your intake form. Physician review time is typically well under 60 minutes, but the delivery guarantee is on the post-approval window.
Can my employer verify the note is real? +
Yes — every note includes a QR code and unique Note ID linked to our employer verification portal at verify.noteforwork.com. An HR professional can scan the QR code or enter the Note ID and instantly see the note's authenticity, the physician's name and license number, and the dates covered — without any login required and without seeing any of your health information.
Is my health information protected? +
Yes. All health information you provide is protected under HIPAA and stored on HIPAA-compliant infrastructure. We will never share your health information with your employer, sell your data, or use it for marketing purposes.
