About the Platform
Work excuse documentation,
done right
NoteForWork is a physician-founded async telehealth platform that provides legitimate work and school absence documentation for minor illnesses. Patients complete a structured intake form, a licensed physician reviews it, and a signed note is delivered within 60 minutes.
We were founded by Dr. Manavjeet Sidhu, MD — board-certified Emergency Medicine physician, NYU medical school, UCSF residency. Every physician on our panel meets the same credentialing standard he set.
We are building our panel ahead of our July 2026 launch and are actively recruiting MDs, DOs, and nurse practitioners in our target states.

Common Questions
What physicians ask us
What states are you recruiting in? +
We are recruiting physicians and NPs in California, Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Georgia, Michigan, Washington, Arizona, Colorado, Maryland, Nevada, Oregon, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and many more states. If you hold a license in any US state, reach out — we may be actively recruiting there. We do not currently accept patients from Arkansas, Kansas, Tennessee, or New Mexico.
Can NPs apply? +
Yes — nurse practitioners with full practice authority in their state can sign notes independently on our platform. If you are in a reduced practice authority state and require a collaborating physician, contact us and we can discuss whether a collaboration arrangement is feasible.
How flexible is the schedule? +
Very flexible. You commit to availability windows that work for you — mornings, evenings, overnight, weekends. Our 60-minute guarantee means patients need a physician available during your committed window, but outside those hours you have no obligation. Many of our physicians use this as supplemental income during evenings and weekends.
Do I need to carry my own malpractice insurance? +
Yes. As an independent contractor you are required to carry your own professional liability insurance with a minimum of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 aggregate. We are exploring group policy options and will update candidates during the onboarding discussion.
What does the application process look like? +
Email us your interest and your license state(s). If there's a fit, we'll send you a link to our online clinical assessment — 7 short patient cases reviewed on your own time, takes about 15 minutes. Dr. Sidhu reviews results and contacts qualified candidates within 5 business days for a brief follow-up call. Selected candidates then complete credentialing and sign the contractor agreement before launch.
Is this employment or a contractor arrangement? +
This is a 1099 independent contractor arrangement. You are not an employee of NoteForWork or Dr. Sidhu's professional corporation. You retain complete clinical independence — the platform never directs your clinical decisions. You are responsible for your own taxes and benefits.
Interested in joining?
Send us a brief email with your name, your medical credential (MD, DO, or NP), and the state or states where you hold an active license. No CV needed at this stage. We'll follow up within 3 business days.
